How do I navigate to the Science Glossary?
- Log in to Twig Science and navigate to your Teacher Dashboard.
- From the Teacher Dashboard you will see a link on the right hand side of the screen.
- Click Glossary.
- You will now see the Science Glossary.
How do students navigate to the Science Glossary?
- Students should login to Twig Science and navigate to their Dashboard.
- From their Dashboard the Science Glossary can be found on the right hand side menu.
- Click on Glossary.
- Students will now see the Science Glossary.
How do I search or filter results in the Science Glossary?
On the Science Glossary you can:
Browse results
You can browse through glossary terms using the Jump to index at the left hand side or expand the results for each letter by clicking the +

Expand results:
Filter results by Grade
To filter glossary results click on Filter.
A filter menu will appear. Here you can select the grade of your choice by using the drop down menu. The results will now filter and only show terms relevant to your selected Grade.
Filter results by Module
To filter glossary results click on Filter.
A filter results menu will now appear. Select your grade and then use the dropdown menu next to Module to select the module of your choice. The results below will show only those terms relevant to your module.
Filter results by Lesson
To filter glossary results click on Filter.
A filter results menu will now appear. Select your grade, module and then use the dropdown menu next to Lesson to select the lesson of your choice.The results below will show only those terms relevant to your lesson.
How do I print glossary terms in the Science Glossary?
To print glossary terms, please select a letter from the index, or filter the results. Once you have selected a letter, or filtered the results and then selected a letter, the option to Print will appear.
Click Print. A pop up will appear containing all the terms starting with your chosen letter. You can now select the terms you want to print.

How do I find vocabulary terms specific to my lesson?
You can filter the Science Glossary to show just terms relevant to your lesson. You can also open the Science Glossary from your lesson page.
How do I open the Science Glossary from a lesson?
- Navigate to your chosen lesson.
- On the lesson page, click on the Vocabulary tab.
- To view the available science glossary print outs for this lesson, click Actions and select Open Science Glossary.
- The Science Glossary will load pre-filtered to your lesson.
- Now select a term and click Print. You will now be able to select vocabulary printouts.
Where can I find Science Glossary print outs?
We have a number of vocabulary print outs available:- All About a Word: Ask students to demonstrate all they know about target words.
- Word Bookmarks: Acts as a reminder for student's to mark their place in their Twig Journal.
- Vocabulary Context Clues: Encourages students to infer meaning from the context.
- Vocabulary Confidence: Provides students with the opportunity to revisit unfamiliar vocabulary.
- Prefix and Root Words: Enables students to identify similarities between word structures and meanings.
- Vocabulary Pair Review: Allows students to discuss and share their understanding of key words.
- Vocabulary Map: Encourages students to explore different aspects of a word.
- Word Map: Allows students to show all they know about a specific word.
- Word Wall Brick: Presents words in a format for classroom display.
Go to the Science Glossary and select a term. Now select Print to select any of the above print outs.
