1. Finding Lessons and Sessions
Each Module features Lessons. Lessons contain a number of smaller sessions.
You can navigate to Lessons and Sessions by clicking on your Grade from the Teacher Dashboard.
Grades are split into Volumes. Each Volume contains a number of Modules.
Click on a Module. All Modules have a trailer and a link to Assign all sessions.
Click on a Lesson. At Lesson level you can Assign all sessions or View slides.
Click on a Session. Each Session has the following:
- Assign and Share options
- Student view
- Slide options
- Session Overview
- Session Prep
- Standards
- Teacher Instructions
2. Teaching and Presenting Lessons and Sessions
At Lesson level you will find resources to help prepare your students to answer the Lesson's Driving Question. At Session level you will find teacher instruction and session prep, as well as the Student View of the session you can assign.
Each session has downloadable slides in a number of formats for class presentation.
3. Assigning and Sharing Lessons and Sessions
To assign or share a lesson or session, click Grade. Select a module, then select a Lesson.
- On the Lesson or Session page click Assign > Assign and Share.
- Select your class, language and students.
- Now select the start and end dates for your assigned session.
- Click Assign.
- Once the session has been assigned you can track sessions from the Assignments Center. Shared sessions will now appear on your student's dashboard. You can also share assigned sessions via link, Google Classroom or Microsoft teams.
How do I change the end date of an assignment?
You can change the end date of an assignment at any time.
- From the Assignment Center select the Action button.
- Now select Edit Assignment.
- Scroll down to the date selector and update the end date and click Assign to save.
How do I navigate to the Assignments Center?
- When logged in click on Manage. You'll find this on the left hand side navigation menu.
- Then click Assignments.
What can I do from the Assignments Center?
The Assignment Center provides an overview of all assigned sessions.
Here you can:
- Assign via URL
- Assign via Google Classroom
- Assign via Microsoft Teams
- Track student progress
- Edit Assignment details
4. Tracking and Grading Lessons and Sessions
To track Lessons click Manage in the main navigation menu, and then click Assignments.
The Assignments Center provides teachers with a management system for all assigned lessons. You can share lessons, revoke lessons, view students' progression and access the Twig Book, and grade lessons all in one place!
How do I know when a student has turned in an assignment?
To see the progress of assigned lessons, navigate to the Assignments Center, by clicking Manage and Assignments
Progress of each assessment can be accessed by clicking the Progress icons.
You'll now see the status of each assigned lesson.
How to Grade Lessons
You can grade lessons, when a student has "Turned in" their lesson.
To grade lessons you can either;
Navigate to the lesson using the Lesson Explorer
- Click on Grade.
- Click on Module.
- Click on Lesson.
- Click on Session.
- Click Student View.
- Click Digital.
- Click Grade.
Navigate to the lesson using the Assignments Center
- Click Manage.
- Click Assignments Center.
- Click on lesson title.
- Click Grade.
Flexible Grading
You can choose to grade lessons by using the student drop down and selecting a student's assignment, or you can grade by using the stage drop down and grading each question one at a time.
Assignment Actions: Return to Student
When you are grading lessons, you can leave feedback and Return to Student if they need to update or change their answer.
Fill out the Feedback text box.
Then click Return to Student. The student will see the new feedback and will be able to update their answers and Turn in the lesson.
Assignment Actions: Mark as Complete
When you are happy with your student's answers, you can leave feedback and mark the lesson as complete. Click Mark as Complete. The student will be able to view your feedback, but will no longer be able to update the lesson.

1. Welcome to our Lesson Feedback and Grading Tutorial!
From your Teacher dashboard click Manage.
2. Click Assigned Lessons.
3. This is your Assigned Lessons Center.
Find the lesson you want to grade, then click on the Progress icons.
4. To grade any lessons which have been turned in, click View.
5. You will now see the student's lesson.
Scroll down to the answer you want to leave feedback for.
Click on the speech bubble icon.
6. Type in your feedback.
7. When you have entered your feedback, click Save.
8. Scroll up to the Progress Action button.
9. If you want your student to make changes to their assignment click Return to Student.
The student will now be able to read your feedback and make changes to their assignment before turning it back in.
10. We've signed in as a student.
When you student signs in they will see their assignment is In Progress and has New Feedback.
Click on the Lesson tile.
11. The student can now click the Speech bubble icon to view feedback.
12. Students can read your feedback, and then make changes to their answer.
13. Students can now update their answer before resubmitting.
14. To resubmit the assignment, your student should click Turn In.
15. We've logged back into our teacher account.
Navigate to the Assigned Lessons Center, and click View next to your student's assignment.
16. Scroll down to view the new answer.
Click on the Speech bubble icon to update feedback.
17. You can now remove your last comment and update it to something new.
18. Type in your new feedback and click Save.
19. Scroll up and click Progress Actions.
20. Click Mark as Complete. The student will be able to see your feedback, but will no longer be able to change their work.
21. Once marked as complete, the assignment can no longer be updated or changed. Click Continue.
22. We'll log back in as a student, and click on the completed lesson.
23. The student can scroll down, and click on the Speech bubble icon to view new feedback.
24. The student won't be able to make any changes, as this lesson is now complete.

13. Click Tuesday, May 7th, 2024.
14. Click Select due date drop down arrow.
15. Click Choose Friday, May 31st, 2024
16. Click Update Assignment.
17. You can now Track you assignment from the Assignments Center, or you can share the lesson using a number of formats.
To get a sharable url click the arrow.
18. Click Copy link.
19. Click arrow to return.
20. Click cross to go back to session.

1. Welcome to our Session Feedback and Grading Tutorial!
From your Teacher Dashboard, click Manage.
2. Click Assignments.
3. This is the Assessment Center.
Click on the Class dropdown to select your class.
4. Click All Classes.
5. To go to your assigned session click on the Lesson Title.
6. To switch to Grade view, click Grade.
7. Click the down arrow next to My Copy to switch to a student's assignment.
8. Select the student version you want to grade.
9. You can leave feedback in the Teacher Feedback box.
10. Click Save.
11. Click the Progress Action to either Return to Student, or to Mark as Complete.
12. If you'd like the student to make changes to their answer you can Return to Student.
13. We'll take a quick look at the Student's Dashboard.
The returned assignment now appears as In Progress with a feedback bubble.
Click on the feedback bubble to go to Session.
14. The student can then click on Teacher Feedback to review the new comment.
15. The student can view their comment and then make any changes to their answer.
16. Switching back to your Teacher Dashboard, click Manage and Assignments.
17. Click on the Session Title.
18. Click the arrow to select the Student's session.
19. Click on the student's session.
20. You can now remove your last comment, and leave new feedback.
Click Save.
21. To mark assignment as complete, click on Progress Actions.
22. Click Mark as Complete.
Your student will now longer be able to make any changes to their Session, and it will now be marked as complete on their dashboard.
23. Switching back to a Student's dashboard, you can see the session is now marked as Completed. Student's can click on the speech bubble to review any new comments.
