The following instructions apply if you have selected to self-roster accounts individually or if you are making manual changes with automated rostering.
Teachers and Administrators can view, edit, and delete classes/groups from the Classes/Groups page, which contains a list of all classes/groups in your purview.
To view/locate classes and groups
- Log in to https://api.imaginelearning.com/signin.
- Click Users & Classes/Groups in the Product Portal.
- Click Classes/Groups at the top of the page. The table is sorted alphabetically by name, A-Z. Click on the Name column header to review the sort order.
- Use the search bar at the top of the page to locate a specific class/group. You can search by full or partial name or external assigned ID. Type your search term and click Enter or the magnifying glass for the results. Clear the results by clicking the X.
- To view a list of classes/groups that have specific products assigned or are a particular synced status, click the arrows to open the filters.
- Click the box(es) to apply the filter(s). The number of boxes checked in each filter displays in a blue circle to the right of the filter name. The number of groups matching the filter displays above the table. The filters taken together are cumulative. Classes/groups must match at least one item in all of the filters selected in order to display the results.
To edit a class/group (includes adding existing students to a class/group)
Several changes can be made to classes/groups, but whether the changes can be performed individually or in bulk depends on the action.
Edit an individual group:
- Find the applicable class or group by following the View/Locate instructions above.
- Click the three dots to the far right of the line item, then choose Edit Details, Edit Product Access, or Edit Product Settings.
- Complete the desired edits.
- Click Save at the bottom of the window.
- The class/group is updated. Confirmation will be noted at the bottom of the screen.
Edit multiple groups simultaneously (bulk edits):
- Find the applicable class or group by following the View/Locate instructions above.
- Click the checkboxes to the left of the names of the groups you want to edit. Then, click the arrow in the Bulk Actions dropdown menu. Select Bulk Edit. Changes made will apply to every class/group selected.
- Complete the desired edits on the Details and/or Product tab(s).
- Click Save at the bottom of the window (or Continue to save the previous tab’s selections and proceed to the next tab, when applicable).
- In the verification window, click Start Processing.
- The classes/groups are updated. Confirmation will be noted at the bottom of the screen.
To delete a class group
Groups that were created via automated import cannot be deleted inside the Imagine Learning products. They must be removed from the import files and then they will be deleted on the next sync.
Groups that were created manually using the in-product rostering tools can be deleted individually and/or in bulk, depending on your role. Administrators can delete groups one-by-one or in bulk, while Teachers can only delete one group at a time.
Deleting a group does not delete the students assigned to it, nor does it delete student data. However, students must be assigned to at least one group for their data to be visible.
Delete an individual group:
- Find the applicable entity by following the View/Locate instructions above.
- Click the three dots to the far right of the line item, then choose Delete.
- In the confirmation window, click Yes, Delete.
- Confirmation will be noted at the bottom of the screen, and the user will no longer display in the list of students.
Delete multiple groups simultaneously (bulk deletions; Administrators only):
- Find the applicable groups by following the View/Locate instructions above.
- Click the checkboxes to the left of the groups you want to delete.
- Click the arrow in the Bulk Actions dropdown menu. Select Delete.
- In the confirmation window, click Yes, Delete.
- Confirmation will be noted at the bottom of the screen, and the groups will no longer display on the Classes/Groups page.
