Twig Elementary: Assigning lessons

Twig Science lessons  can be taught using a digital version of the Twig Book. The digital version allows students to fill in answers directly into their digital copy on their computer or tablet. You can assign digital lessons to students who will then be alerted to the task when they sign into Twig Science.

How do I assign multiple lessons?

1. From the Teacher Dashboard, select a Grade tile.
2. Scroll down to your Module. Click on the green arrow to view Driving Questions (DQs)
3. Click on your Driving Question.
4. Click Assign Twig Books for this DQ.
   
5. If you have more than one class, select the correct class.
6. You can now select the lessons you wish to assign to each student.
7. Scroll down, and click Assign.

Lessons will now appear on your students' dashboard.

How do I assign an individual lesson to my students?

1. From the Teacher Dashboard, select a Grade tile.
2. Scroll down to your Module. Click on the green arrow to view Driving Questions (DQs)
3. Click the Driving Question.
4. Click on a Lesson tile.
5. On the lesson page, click Assign and Share.
   
6. A pop-up box will appear with a list of your students. Select the All Students box to assign the lesson to the whole class, or select 1 or multiple students by selecting the box by their name. 
7. The selected students will be indicated with a blue square. Click Assign.

8. A number of sharing options become available once you've assigned the lesson.

    Note

   When you use the Share via URL link option, students must be logged in to Twig Science in order for the URL to work.

How do I revoke a lesson?

1. To remove access to lessons, navigate to the lesson and click on Assign and Share.
2. Click on any blue boxes to remove access. The box will go white. Then click Assign again. The lesson is now unassigned.
3. You can see who is assigned to the lesson at any time by clicking the Assign and Share button on the lesson.

How do I share lessons with a URL, Google Classroom, or Microsoft Teams?

1. Navigate to the lesson you are teaching.
2. Click on Assign and Share.

3. Select the students you want to share the lesson with. Once the lesson has been assigned you can click on a number of share options.

    Note

   When you use the Share via URL link option, students must be logged in to Twig Science in order for the URL to work.
