Text on Twig Science can be translated into multiple languages using our integrated Read Aloud tool or by downloading Google Translate.
The Read Aloud feature within the Twig Science platform allows users to translate student-facing text, such as student lessons, in different languages as either text or audio.
Google Translate is also compatible with Twig Science and can be used to translate video transcripts or teacher-facing text. This can be done by adding Google Translate as a browser extension.
Click on the headers below to find out how to use each translation tool.
- Log in to Twig Science.
- Navigate to student-facing materials.
- Click the Read Aloud button.
- In the menu that opens, click the Settings button (gear icon).
- In the left navigation bar, select the Translation section.
-
Leave the Translating from field English or Spanish (depending on whether you are viewing the English or Spanish digital version), select another language in the Into this language field, and then click Save.
Note
Once you save your selection, it will still be saved even after you log out and log back in again, so you won't need to repeat steps 3 through 6 unless you want to select a different language.
- Highlight the text you want to translate, then click Read Aloud again and select the translate icon.
-
The text will now be translated; if available, you can also click the play button to hear the translation spoken aloud.
Note
Not all languages contain audio translations, only those that have a speaker symbol when you select them from the Into this language drop-down menu as described in step 6.
