Users are defined by their roles. Higher roles share the privileges of the roles below them in a cascading style. For example, Site Admins have their own privileges, as well as the same privileges that Authors and Teachers have.
Note
Students have a different profile type, so the cascading roles hierarchy chart above does not apply to them.
