How to download data

You may download student assignment scores to a CSV file from the Dashboard using the "Download" button in the top right of the page. Learn more about the Data Dashboard.

  1. Click Data in the upper right to access the Dashboard
  2. (Optional) Set export filters in Dashboard

In Dashboard, use the filters in the sidebar and/or click on a row in your Performance or Standards table to filter your data as needed. The filters you set in Dashboard will apply to your export. For example:

    • If you filtered your Dashboard to Assignment type = Assessment, Grading status = Graded, and When = Aug 1, 2024 - Sep 1, 2024 in the sidebar, your export would include scores with those properties, only.
    • If you filtered your Dashboard to Grade 3 by clicking into the Grade 3 table row in the Performance or Standards table, your export would include scores from Grade 3 students, only.
  3. Click the Download button
  4. Choose your scores type

After clicking "Download", you may choose from the following score type options:

    • Total scores: includes assignment scores.
    • Item scores: includes item scores.
    • Item scores by standard: includes item scores per unique standard.
Below score types, you will also be able to review your applied filters based on the filters you set in Dashboard. If you'd like to make changes to your filters, exit the Download tool and reset filters in Dashboard.
  5. Click the Generate button
  6. Download your file from the "My reports" tab or via your email notification

After clicking "Generate", you will be taken to the "My reports" section of the modal where you may download your report for 7 days once generated. You will receive an email notifying you when your export is generated ready for download.

If your file takes more than a few seconds to generate and you wish to return to the Dashboard or elsewhere in IL Classroom while you wait, you may exit the Download modal by clicking the "x" in the upper right. Simply click "Download" "My reports" again to check on the status of your file and download once generated.

How soon after students complete assignments will their data appear in an export?
Assignment data loads into the Dashboard overnight. You will see data reflected the following day. Updates made to scores will also be reflected the following day.
What data can each type of user see?

As with all IL Classroom reports, users see data appropriate for their role and the classes and students within their scope:

  • Teachers and Authors: access only to their data
  • School Admins: access data for the school(s) associated with their account or their individual assignments
  • Site Admins: access all data for their site
