The Dashboard enables analysis of assignment scores by various breakdowns (student grade via a SIS, school, student) to help educators identify opportunities for student support. It also flags standards that may require further investigation based on students' assignment results. These flags serve as jumping off points to help educators in their processes of determining when students are succeeding, when they are not yet grasping concepts, and how best to support them.

Accessing the Data Dashboard
Navigate to the Dashboard by clicking "Data" in the top navigation menu (upper right corner) of your account. When you click "Data," you’ll see two tabs: "Dashboard", and "Item Analysis".
To learn more about Item Analysis, visit the Item Analysis Guide.
Filtering your data
You can customize the Dashboard with the assignment type, assignment, subject, grading status, and date range filters found in the sidebar on the left of the page. Additional grade and school filters are available to support filtering by multiple grades or schools, if needed.
Assignment Type filter
- Options: Assessment, Activity, and Full Lesson
- Assessment type is checked by default. Check the box next to a type to adjust your selection. (Selecting at least one type is required to view results).
- Click the "Learn more" link next to the Type filter label to view assignment type details for each IL Classroom curriculum. The table below also lists these details.

Assignment filter
You may filter your Dashboard to specific assignments, instead of by assignment type.
- Select the "By assignment" tab.
- Select "Choose assignments" to launch the assignment selector.
- In the assignment selector, you will see a list of assignments with student scores. Use the optional filters to modify your choices. Select one or more (up to 10) assignments and select "Choose assignments" in the bottom right.
- You will then return to Dashboard and see your results filtered to your selected assignments. Your Performance and Standards tables will be broken down by assignment. Assignments in these tables will appear in chronological order based on the date they were initially scored (via auto-scoring or manual scoring).
Subject filter
The subject filter is available when filtering by an assignment type.
- Options: All, Math, ELA
- When a subject filter is applied, results include data from assignments that have been aligned with standards at the assignment and item levels.
Grading status filter
- Options: All, Graded
- All (default): includes all item and assignment scores (ungraded and graded).
- Graded: includes only assignment and item scores from assignments that either:
- Have the "Returned with grade" status; or
- Have the "Closed" status and in which all items and their parts have been scored. Items may be scored via:
- Auto-scoring (for auto-graded items)
- Manual scoring
- Items which were not attempted by a student in an assignment that the student has accessed will have a score of "0".
- Assignments which were not accessed nor attempted by the student, and therefore have no scores data whatsoever, are not included in any view in the Dashboard.
When filter
- Options: Last 7 days, Last 30 days, Last 90 Days, Last 180 Days, School year to date (default), and a calendar which may be used to select a custom date range. School year to date includes data from August 1 of the current school year to current date.
Note
Data going back to August 1, 2021 are available through the Dashboard. Data from prior months are not available.
Who filter
You may filter by a single grade by clicking into a grade level row in the Performance or Standards table. You may then filter by a single school by clicking into a school row in those tables. If you need to filter by multiple grades or schools, you may use the Grade level or School filters at the bottom of the left sidebar. After applying these filters, the data in your current view of Dashboard will be filtered to your selections. You may continue to click on a row to jump to the next breakdown level and change filters at any breakdown level.
- Grade level: the student's grade level, via one of IL Classroom's SIS partners. If your site provisioned accounts via CSV import, you will see an "Unknown" category instead of grade levels. Contact your Customer Success Manager to explore enabling a SIS partner like Clever. Grades available include all grades with data on the site, including from previous years if applicable. Users see grade options appropriate for their role and the students within their scope.
- School: the student's school, via a SIS or provided in the CSV file your site imported when provisioning accounts. Schools available include all schools with data on the site, including from previous years if applicable. Users see school options appropriate for their role and the students within their scope.
Using the Standards table
Within the Standards table, you can choose to see the bottom 5, top 5, or all standards based on item scores associated with specified standards.=
Note
When filtered by one or more specific assignments, only the "All" option is available.
Dashboard Views
There are five views in the Dashboard: Site, Grade, School, Teacher, and Student.
- The Grade level(s) available through the Site and Grade views are determined by the student's grade level, via one of IL Classroom's SIS partners. If your site provisioned accounts via CSV import, you will see an "Unknown" category instead of grade levels. Contact your Customer Success Manager to explore enabling an SIS partner like Clever.
- School is determined by the student's school in a SIS, or by the school provided in the CSV file your site imported when provisioning accounts. If you did not include schools in your CSV import and wish to add them, contact your Customer Success Manager for assistance.
To navigate to the next Dashboard view, click on a row in the "Performance" table or the "Standards" table. Use the breadcrumbs at the top of the page to navigate back to a previous view.
When viewing the Student page in the Dashboard, click on an assignment in the "Performance" table or "Standards" table to go to the assignment page.
Viewing various levels of data
Under either the "Performance" or the "Standards" table, click on a row to drill down into your results. First, click into a grade level to see all results for the specified grade. You can continue clicking on any row in these tables to move to a school, teacher, and student view.
Note
The Grade option is available only to sites using one of IL Classroom's SIS partners.
Viewing assignment data
Within the student level, you can see each individual's assignment data and average scores.

Reports
Each view in the Data Dashboard includes the following reports with data organized by the breakdown categories presented in the view.
Overview
- An overall summary based on student assignment scores. The value in the middle of the donut chart is the average of all assignment scores included in the view. The donut chart breaks down the number of assignments with scores that fall within each range (0-50%, 51-79%, 80-100%).
- "Bottom" and "Top" standard scores summary, based on average item scores for assignment items associated with specified standards. The percent score next to each standard is the average item score for items associated with the specified standards.
Performance
- Average score: This value is the average of assignment scores for the assignments included in the view, organized by breakdown category. The assignment score is based on total points earned out of total points possible in the assignment.
-
Assignments: This value is the total number of student assignments contributing to the average score. For example:
- 10 students complete the Unit 1 End-of-Unit Assessment. The assignment count will be 10.
- 20 students complete the Module 1 Assessment and 40 students complete the Module 2 Assessment. (The Assignment Type filter is set to "Assessment" so both module assessments are included in your view). The assignment count will be 60.
- A student completed the Unit 5 Mid-Unit assessment, The teacher archived the student's original assignment, and created a second assignment of the Unit 5 Mid-Unit assessment for the student re-take. This student's assignment count will be 2.
- In the Teacher view of the Dashboard, Performance tables are organized by class. An 'Archived' badge will appear on any archived classes on this page. Archived students will also appear. The 'People' tab in your classes indicates which individual students have an archived status.
Standards
- The standard columns include the average of the item scores for items aligned with the specified standard, organized by breakdown category.
- You can select "Bottom 5," "Top 5," and "All" standards when filtered by an assignment type. When filtered by one or more specific assignments, only the "All" standards view is available.
About standards alignment:
- Three sections of the Dashboard present score insights based on item standard alignments:
- The Bottom standards chart
- The Top standards chart
- The Standards table
- Not all digital items in IL Classroom curricula are aligned to standards. When your Dashboard view includes assignments in which no items are aligned to standards, you will see an "Criteria" flag indicating that partial standard alignment exists.
- See the table below for more details about the item alignment status of assignment types across IL Classroom curricula. The details below reflect alignment to the Common Core State Standards. If you have a different standard initiative enabled on your IL Classroom site, check with your CSM to understand item standard alignment status.
| Curriculum | Assessments | Activities | Full lessons |
