Twig Elementary: Adding a class nickname

 Caution

On July 30, 2026, Twig Science will receive improvements to the login and rostering processes. It will now be easier to create and manage student accounts, teacher accounts, and classes. As a result of the planned enhancements, the information in this article will either no longer apply, or the steps to complete this action will be changing.

Teachers can update class names on their dashboard by adding a class nickname.

Use a class nickname to make  it easier to find classes on your Teacher Dashboard and class lists.

The nickname is what teachers and students will see, and does not change the rostered class name in reports or on Admin view. 

Updating a class nickname

  1. Log in to Twig Science
  2. Click Manage > Class.

  3. Click the tile of the class you want to rename.

  4. Enter a new class name in the Class nickname field.nickname.png
  5. Click Save changes
