Twig Science includes Spanish language support for teachers and students. Select a role-based tab to learn more.
Tip
Refer to Using translate tools if you need language support in a language other than Spanish or English.
Teachers can perform the following functions in Spanish:
Switch the platform to Spanish
You can view the platform in Spanish by selecting Español (ES) from the language toggle at the top right corner of your Teacher Dashboard. When Spanish is selected, lessons, video audio, and video captions default to Spanish. The platform remembers your language preference the next time you sign in, but you can switch back to English at any time.
Changing the platform language to Spanish also changes the lesson content and default video language settings.
Present lessons in Spanish
When Spanish is selected from the language toggle, available lesson content appears in Spanish when you navigate to a lesson and click Presentar la lección.
There is also a language toggle inside the digital lesson:
Assign lessons in Spanish
You can assign a lesson in Spanish to students in your class. Students who receive the Spanish version will view and complete the lesson in Spanish.
- Navigate to the lesson you want to assign.
- Select Assign and Share (Asignar y compartir).
- Be sure Español is selected as the language in the top right corner of the assignment window, select the applicable students, and then click Asignar.
Watch videos in Spanish, with Spanish subtitles and transcripts
Refer to Twig Elementary: Video controls for more information about Spanish audio and Spanish closed-captioning.
When you are in the Digital Twig Book, you can opt to view the video transcript in Spanish, too:
Download slides in Spanish
You can download slides in Spanish from the Driving Question page for Full Course and Fast Track lessons.
Student experience:
When students are assigned a lesson in Spanish, it appears on their dashboard in Spanish. The rest of the dashboard may still be in English.
However, once the student clicks in to the lesson the first time, and then returns to the dashboard, the rest of the Student Dashboard translates to Spanish.
If the student has a mix of lessons in English and Spanish, their dashboard will continuously update to match the language of the most recent lesson they've clicked in to.
