Twig Elementary: Flipbook Leveled Readers

A Flipbook is a digital version of a science-themed Leveled Reader.

In this article we will look at:

  1. Leveled Readers are housed at the module level on Twig Science. From the Teach tab, select a grade level from the Modules drop-down menu.

  2. Scroll to the applicable module description and click the green arrow to open it.

     Note

    Module 0s do not contain Leveled Readers.

  3.  Scroll down to the Leveled Reader Lessons in the bottom left corner and click into a Leveled Reader.

  4. Click Twig Book > Digital

  5. On the right-hand side of the page, use the Select Reader drop-down menu to choose your desired Flipbook version: Above Level, Below Level, English Learner, or On Level.

  6. The Flipbook opens; use the arrows to turn the pages.

How do I assign a Flipbook to students?

In the Leveled Reader lesson, click Assign and Share. In the pop-up window that opens, select the desired students and level and click Assign.

What does a student see when I assign a Flipbook/Leveled Reader lesson?

  1. Students will see the assigned Leveled Reader lesson on their dashboard and should click the tile to open the lesson.

  2. Once the lesson opens, students access the Flipbook by opening the Select Reader drop-down menu and clicking on the shape

     Note

    The shape indicates the level of the assigned reader:

    • Triangle = Above Level 
    • Circle = Below Level
    • Diamond = English Learner
    • Square = On Level
  3. Use the arrows to flip through the pages.
