Each Driving Question on Twig Science Elementary comes with 3 types of lessons:
- Full Course lessons: Everything you need to present and teach subjects in full.
- Fast Track lessons: Lessons with an accelerated pace for both teachers and students.*
- Twig Coach lessons: Lessons with no preparation needed. Just assign and go!**

To locate lessons, navigate through the Lesson Explorer and drill down from a module to a Driving Question (DQ). Once you're on the page for the Driving Question, all lessons applicable to the DQ will be organized by type. Scroll down the page to see all 3 lesson types.

Full Course lessons are in-depth lessons with teacher present mode, teacher resources, and digital assets—everything you need to guide students through each lesson. They take about 60 minutes to teach and are available for students in Grades PreK–6.

What resources are available for Full Course lessons?
Each Full Course lesson comes with:
- Assessment Summary: An assessment overview specific to the Full Course lessons
- Slides: Slides for Google Classroom and PowerPoint, specifically for Full Course lessons
- Pacing Guide: Lists standards covered and helps with lesson duration/timing
Fast Track lessons are streamlined lessons which can be taught in approximately 50 minutes. They are available for students in Grades K–6.

What resources are available for Fast Track lessons?
Each Fast Track lesson comes with:
- Assessment Summary: An assessment overview specific to the Fast Track lessons
- Slides: Slides for Google Classroom and PowerPoint, specifically for Fast Track lessons
- Pacing Guide: Shows the corresponding Full Course lessons, provides a Fast Track lesson summary, and provides the lesson duration and standards covered
How do digital Fast Track Lessons differ from print lessons?
Digital Fast Track lessons include only sections highlighted by a Fast Track icon in the printed Teacher Edition.
This is how the digital lessons differ from the print:
- The Overview has been adapted to reflect the content covered in the Fast Track route.
- Any composite lessons have new lesson titles.
- Instead of Spark, Investigate, Report, Connect, and Reflect, composite lessons have new section titles.
- There is a bespoke Assessment Track, meaning that the digital lessons sometimes include content not signposted in print.
- Academic terms are charted as they are featured in lessons, meaning that there are fewer words added to the Word Wall.
- Science Tools are introduced, charted, or referred to as they are featured in lessons, meaning there are fewer references to the Science Tools poster.
Note
The Fast Track-only product does not include a Teacher Edition because all necessary information is located at point-of-use on the Twig platform.
Getting Started With Fast Track Lessons
Twig Coach lessons include guided instruction from one of our enthusiastic Twig Coaches. These lessons are perfect for distance learning, asynchronous learning, or homework assignments. They are available for students in Grades K–6 and are shorter than both the Full Lessons and the Fast Track lessons.
