Twig Elementary: All about lessons

In Twig Science Elementary, the curriculum content is arranged in a hierarchy:

Grade > Module > Driving Question > Lesson

Teachers and Administrators can use the program's Lesson Explorer to drill down through the curriculum hierarchy and view all student-facing content, educator resources, and lesson-planning materials. 

After reading Getting Started with Lesson Explorer, use this article to take a closer look at lessons and explore the resources available for each lesson.

To access and peruse lessons:

1. Log in to Twig Science Elementary.
2. Access the Lesson Explorer and drill down to your desired lesson (from the list of lessons on the Driving Questions page).
   

3. The lesson opens on the Overview tab, which provides basic information about the lesson. Go to the Lesson tab to see the full lesson plan, or the Digital Resources tab to see the videos associated with each part of the lesson. Use the links on the left navigation sidebar to jump to a particular section on any of the 3 tabs. 
   

   From the top of the lesson page you can complete several actions. 
   
   
   The table below explains each action.

   Button or Link	Details
   A. Assign and Share	Assign the lesson to your students. Learn more by reading Getting started with lessons.
   B. Twig Book	View the student version of the lesson via the Twig Book. You can view it in English or Spanish, with or without example answers.
   C. Teacher Background Knowledge	Additional information to share with your students or to help you understand the subject matter you're about to teach. (This is the same link that was available from the Driving Questions page).
   D. Read Aloud	Click Read Aloud to access the accessibility options to have the page read aloud to you.
   E. Print	Click Print to close the left navigation sidebar and open a more compact view for printing. Then click Print again to open the printer dialog.
   F. Checkmark/Tick	Mark the lesson as complete (for the class you select, if you have multiple classes). The lesson will show as complete on the Curriculum Progression area of your Teacher Dashboard.
   G. Thumbtack/Pin	Pin the lesson to the My Lessons area of your Teacher Dashboard for one-click access in the future. If you have more than one class, you must select the applicable class.
   H. Present Lesson	Click this button to present the lesson digitally to your students. Learn more about presenting lessons digitally by reading Presenting lessons.
